The Use Of Abb Induction Motor

An Abb induction motor is actually an alternating current electric motor.  Here the current needed to produce torque in the rotor is obtained from electromagnetic induction which is again gained from magnetic field of the winding stator. Thus, you may say that an induction motor can also be made without any electrical attachments to the rotor.

Advantages

The advantages of an induction motor are as follows-

• One of the biggest advantages of an induction motor is its simple construction. The stator is made in a similar manner in both induction motors as well as the synchronous motors. The slip ring is needed to feed the direct current supply to the rotor in the synchronous generators. But in case of an induction motor, there is no need for any slip rings. It is because of the fact that the windings are short circuited permanently. When you compare it with a direct current or DC motor, then the induction motor do not have the brushes and thus, the maintenance that is needed is much low. This is because of the simple construction.

• The working of an induction motor does not depend on the environmental condition. It is because; the induction motors are robust and very strong mechanically.

• The squirrel cage induction motors do not contain slip rings, brushes and the commutators. This is exactly the reason of its low cost. But the wound type induction motors contain the slip rings which are used to add some external resistance to the winding rotor. The absence of the brushes do not cause sparks in the induction motors. In fact, it can be said that this type of induction motors can be easily operated even in hazardous conditions.

Whenever you need an induction motor or a Fluke Multimeter, make sure to purchase them from a trusted seller always.
